Good teaching – there is more to it than a weekly lecture during the lecture period. As a university teacher, you have to face a multitude of challenges and demonstrate not only your professional but also your didactic skills and many other competencies. In addition, the diversity of students demands variety in your teaching.

The workshop addresses teachers of all departments who would like to design their teaching in a didactically meaningful way. You will get an insight into the basics of didactics in higher education as well as suitable methods. You will also learn how to professionalize your course designs as well as how to reflect on your own development as a lecturer. The workshop will enable you to formulate your learning outcomes in a structured and student-oriented way. Together with other teachers, you will analyze your target group and discuss your teaching methods as well as external influences. In this way, you lay the foundation for good teaching.

• Reflection on one’s own development as a lecturer
• Examination of the student target group
• Basics and concepts of teaching and learning
• Didactically meaningful course planning
• Designing and presenting learning content in a way that is appropriate for the target group
• Motivation and activation of students
• Filling the teaching toolbox

Target group:

Scientists and teaching staff who have taught 2-3 courses or have been teaching for a year

Organisational details:

• When you register as a mandatory participant, please note that attending the training is part of your official duties and an unexcused absence is a violation of your official responsibilities. Any further education undertaken during your working hours is subject to the prior approval of your manager.

• Access information to the course will be announced via e-mail.

• Between the two given dates there will be another asynchronous working phase of about 3.5 hours

• CAU-Certificates Certificate in Higher Education Didactics, Basic Courses
• Fee: 375,00 €. Free for employees of CAU and PhD students who are registered within the Graduiertenzentrum.
• Deadline for registration: 11 days before the date of the course
