Kursbeschreibung

The use of AI tools is revolutionizing scientific work by simplifying complex tasks such as data analysis, literature evaluation or text production. This workshop provides practice-oriented insights into the use of artificial intelligence in research practice for an interdisciplinary group. The aim is to introduce participants to concrete tools and methods that support them in analyzing data, researching, reviewing and efficiently managing literature, testing hypotheses and optimizing scientific manuscripts. In addition to practical application, ethical implications and data law aspects will be discussed. The aim is to enable participants to integrate AI tools into their everyday research in a targeted and critical manner.

Learning targets:

  • know the basic functions and possible uses of AI tools such as OpenAI, DeepL Write, Scite.AI, Connected Papers and Python-based applications for the research process.
  • are proficient in the use of AI-supported tools for efficient and targeted literature research and the analysis of scientific texts, for example using Semantic Scholar and Connected Papers.
  • can analyse and visualize data with the help of AI-supported applications such as Orange Data Mining or Tableau and present the results clearly and comprehensibly.
  • use AI-supported technologies to support the creation of scientific manuscripts, including grammar and style optimization and automated translation.
