Course description

The course provides a general introduction to project management, but uses examples from research, such as a doctorate. Participants learn about different concepts, ways of thinking and procedures and practise the techniques directly on their own research project. No rigid rules are given, but advantages and disadvantages are discussed and personal adaptation of the methods is encouraged.

The participants ...

  • know the most important basics of project management, including the fundamentals of agile methods.
  • have mastered the most widely used planning and analysis techniques and have applied these to their own research.
  • have shared their experiences and productivity tips.


Target group:

Postdoctoral and doctoral researchers from all disciplines


Organisational details:

  • When you register as a mandatory participant, please note that attending the training is part of your official duties and an unexcused absence is a violation of your official responsibilities. Any further education undertaken during your working hours is subject to the prior approval of your manager.
  • Fee: 250,00 €. Free for employees of CAU and PhD students who are registered within the Graduiertenzentrum.
